1. What is Listen2Mail?
Listen2Mail is a mobile application for your iPhone or iPad, which reads your email in real time without you needing to touch your mobile device or look at the display.
That is why you can legally use Listen2Mail even when driving your car! Your emails will be read directly in Listen2Mail, irrespective of your email application.
Launch the application before commencing your journey, activate the automatic reading function and reach your destination safely. Listen2Mail has a variety of uses for work and leisure time.
No more cumbersome reading – simply relax and listen. Clever filter functions let you select which emails you would like to be read specifically.
2. Can I use Listen2Mail while driving a car?
Yes, you can because Listen2Mail has an automatic reading function. As a driver is not allowed to operate a mobile phone while the engine is running, please ensure prior
to commencing your journey that you have launched the Listen2Mail application and that the automatic reading option has been activated.
Check the volume settings of your mobile device and keep the car charger for your iPhone or iPad at hand during long car journeys. Reading will start automatically when a new email is received.
3. On which devices can Listen2Mail be used?
Listen2Mail is a universal app and can be used on the iPhone and iPad from iOS 4.2.
4. Does Listen2Mail also work with Bluetooth headsets or hands-free kits?
Yes. To do so, set up the audio device according to the manufacturer's instructions on your mobile device. For use with Bluetooth headsets, the Bluetooth option must be activated in the „Settings“ on your iPhone or iPad under „General“ „Bluetooth“.
5. In what languages can Listen2Mail read?
Listen2Mail includes 21 languages and 32 voices (20 female and 12 male speakers): Danish, German, English (UK + US), Finnish, French (France + Canada), Greek, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil + Portugal), Russian, Swedish, Spanish (Spain + Mexico), Czech, Turkish and Hungarian.
6. How much memory will the application take up on my mobile device?
Listen2Mail uses 1.3 MB memory.
Additional memory will be required if you would like to archive the audio files of your read emails. Therefore, you can specify the maximum memory size for this purpose in the settings.
You can choose any value between 10 MB and 1 GB.
7. Which email providers are supported by Listen2Mail?
The application supports email providers who support the IMAP protocol.
8. Which details are required when setting up an email account?
For the email providers MobileMe, GoogleMail, Yahoo!, AOL and T-Online the standard email server connections (server name and port) are already entered.
Simply enter your email address and corresponding password.
Should you have a different provider, select „Other“ from the list. In the „Incoming email“
field on the following screen, enter the Server name and Port of your provider for accessing emails via IMAP. If you don’t know your provider’s server name and port, please contact your provider directly.
You can also search your provider’s online support pages for “IMAP”, “Port” and “Incoming email server” to find these details.
Confirm your entries by tapping the „Save“ button at the top right.
(Hint: The incoming email server’s default port for IMAP is 993. If you are unable to establish a connection with this port, switch to port 143.)

9. Message: Receiving emails not possible.
If you receive this message, please go the settings in your email account to check if your account details (email address and email password) have been entered correctly.
The server name for email access via IMAP must be entered into the „Incoming email server“ field – contact your provider for this information if necessary.
Otherwise, you can also search your provider’s online support pages for “IMAP” and
“Incoming email server” to find these details.
